This listing is for a spare wheel alarm wiring kit for the Land Rover Defender L663.

There are numerous reports of Defender spare wheel thefts, and this kit will provide an extra layer of security by utilising the vehicles alarm system.

Essentially a wire loop is wrapped around your spare wheel and when the vehicle is locked and alarmed, any break in the wire loop (either by unplugging or cutting the wire) will immediately trigger the vehicle's alarm ( when the vehicle is locked ).

The wire loop is threaded through the spare wheel and taps into the electrics in the rear door lock mechanism using the supplied plug+play tap loom.

To fit this item simply fit the supplied plug+play tap loom in the rear door, the loop wire can then be threaded through the existing grommet in the door and connected to the tap loom with the supplied connector.

Wrap the loop wire around your spare wheel and couple the connector to complete the connection.

Now, when the vehicle is locked and alarmed, any break in the wire loop will sound the alarm (the vehicle will think the rear door has been opened which triggers the alarm).

This could also be used to loop around bikes on a bike rack / bikes next to your car when camping / around a trailer or caravan etc.
