Replacement Keyfob (includes
new internal electrics & battery)
for Land Rover Freelander 1
(2001-on)
This listing is a for an OEM replacement keyfob for
the Land Rover Freelander 1 (2001-on).
This is the 433mhz version which is suitable for
Europe etc.
This is a complete replacement and includes the
internal electrics and CR1220 battery - this is not just a replacement
shell.
The keyfob is supplied uncoded so will need to be
programmed to your vehicle using a suitable diagnostics tool.
You may be able to find a re-programming procedure
that you can do yourself on the Land Rover forums, but we have not
tested this yet.
It seems there are 2 different keyfob part numbers
available for the Freelander 1 which look identical:
1. Early (1996-2001) Hinged ignition key -
immobiliser transponder is in the keyfob
2. Late (2001+) Oval shaped ignition key -
immobiliser transponder is in the key and not the keyfob (this is what
is for sale here)
This listing is for the later type which does not
have the immobiliser transponder in the keyfob - check your ignition key
and make sure it is the oval type, and not the hinged type (see photo).
This can be used as an alternative to Land Rover part
number YWX101200
This is not a genuine Land Rover part but is an OEM
replacement which is the same item, just not in Land Rover retail
packaging.
