to fit Classic Land Rover Defender 90, 110 & County

This listing is for a folding rear step kit for a Classic Land Rover Defender.

This step is the spring loaded version that stays up out of the way until you step on it and then is comes down, it remains in the down position until you push it up which is easy as it is spring assisted.

NOTE - There are 2 types of folding steps available for the Defender - the REAR step and the SIDE step - this listing is for the REAR step.

These should fit into pre-fitted captive nuts into your rear chassis cross member but we have included some captive nuts in case you don't have them fitted in your chassis or they are corroded etc.

In theory you need an M8 rivnut fitting tool to fit these captive nuts but if you drill a hole and ensure the rivnuts are a tight fit and can't spin then in practice we find we can hammer the rivuts into the hole and then fit the step and the rivnut will tighten inside the chassis as you tighten the bolts.

These steps come complete with fitting kit and instructions - see attached pictures.

This product is really well made and uses a locknut on the main spindle etc. This is not the cheapest product on the market but is a good quality product at a reasonable price.

There is a tough rubber step fitted to prevent slipping etc.

The main construction of this item is black powder coated steel for maximum rust protection ( these steps spend their life covered in mud ! )
